The UL pilot’s license is issued for 5 years and can be renewed upon application without any problems. The conditions are, however, that in the last 24 months, a minimum of 12 takeoffs and landings as well as 12 hours of flight time have taken place. A one-hour training flight with an instructor is also necessary.

Transportation of Passengers on ULs

To be allowed to carry passengers on the ultra light aircraft, a passenger flight license is required. To obtain this permission, proof of at least 5 overland flights is required – two of these flights must be at least the distance of 200 km. The passenger flight license can be only acquired after obtaining a pilot’s license. Our flight instructors are at your disposal to answer your questions.

Flight Fitness:

To acquire the UL Pilot’s License, an officially recognized fitness examination by an approved aviation physician is necessary. At the beginning of training, the medical certificate must be submitted to the Head of Training. In the North Friesland region, Dr. Mathias Schmidt can conduct this examination:

It is recommended to contact the aviation medical examiner beforehand to clarify any preliminary examinations by the General Practitioner.

The cost of the initial examination amounts to approx. 150 to 200 EUR. The Fitness Certificate must be renewed (depending on the age of the pilot) at intervals of one to five years. The renewal costs approx. 80 EUR.
