Retraining

For license holders

For license holders and individuals with pilot’s licenses, our Flight Training Center offers retraining of all kinds. This can mean retraining from a glider pilot’s license or a helicopter pilot’s license to obtain a UL pilot certificate. The following factors must be taken into account:

Retraining from a glider pilot’s license or a helicopter pilot’s license and UL gyroplane pilot’s license to obtain a UL pilot certificate

  • At least 10 hours of practical training (up to 20 hours of previous license from the past 24 months are recognized)
  • At least two 200km/124 miles of cross-country flights with a flight instructor and stopover
  • At least 5 hours of solo flight
  • Pyrotechnics training with a short test with the Chief Instructor
  • Training and examination in the subjects Reacting in Special Situations as well as technology with a chief instructor


From powered aircraft or touring motor glider to UL:

  • Instruction in Technology and Reacting in Special Situations
  • Instruction in Pyrotechnics
  • At least a one-hour training flight with an instructor without interruption

(In license issuing, passenger flight authorization is registered automatically)


From a trike to 3 axis UL:

  • 5 hours on a trike will be credited
  • At least 25 hours of practical training
  • At least 5 of these hours must be solo flight
  • At least two 200km/124 miles of cross-country flights with a stopover landing at an unfamiliar airport with a flight instructor

(The practice test is given by the Chief Instructor)


From paramotor to UL:

  • Instruction in Technology and Reacting in Special Situations
  • Instruction in Pyrotechnics

(The instruction and examination is given by the Chief Instructor)

  • Practical flight training as applicants without flight pre-training


From hang glider to UL:

  • Complete theoretical training with exclusion of the subjects Meteorology and BZF (with proof) and pyrotechnic instruction must be verified
  • Practical flight training as applicants without flight pre-training
